Gavin's new trick

Now that Gavin is almost two, he can do something new. What is it you might ask? Well it makes him laugh, because he can do it. And it makes him happy. His brother Ben has been doing it for a while. Here is a video of Gavin doing it.

Yes! He can jump! He sure likes to show off his new trick.

Indian Food

Last night we got together for Indian food (not Native American) with some friends. I was able to watch the gal prepare most of the food. She kept it mild. Thank goodness because I don't do well with hot. She had me do a lot of the chopping. I didn't realize how much onion, shallots and garlic go into Indian dishes. The coconut mild apparently makes all the difference with all of its saturated fat. It ended up being really late when we ate. Like time to get the boys ready for bed. I'm surprised that they didn't complain about being hungry. We had some lamb meatballs in a curry sauce and chickpeas in another sauce, with some other tortilla like thing, and some Indian flat bread. Ben didn't enjoy the food. He ate the bread and tried one bean. Gavin actually liked the beans. He started feeding himself because I was too slow. Occasionally part of the pepper would end up on his bean and be too spicy for him. He still ate it and asked for rice with the sauce on it too. David thoroughly enjoyed it. He had seconds. I liked it also. Maybe some day when I have a bigger kitchen I will attempt to cook again.

Ben's 4th Birthday

Ben had a good birthday. He got up and had waffles for breakfast. We sang happy birthday to him then. Poor little kid had to wait to open his presents until David got home from helping somone move.

We have a nice friend named Fred. He likes to spoil the kids. Fred gave Ben a remote control car. Ben was so excited to be able to play with it. Fred had let Ben use his remote control tank. I think that that got Ben excited to have his own remote control car.

We ended up getting him one big present. A Spiderman bike. As you can see from the video he liked it. He was a little disappointed that those were the only presents he got on his birthday.

We did end up taking his bike outside and riding for a little while. He claimed he wanted to ride all the way to the IBM park. He had done it many times with his tricycle. (Of course it helped that we did push him part of the way.) He only got part of the way there, got too tired and then turned around to come home.

We went to the simming pool. It was a hot day. They had fun swimming and jumping into the pool.

For dinner Ben decided to go to McDonald's. He claims that we never go to McDonald's. He was excited to get a toy with his Happy Meal. He even had fun playing at the play place.

These boys were worn out so much that they fell fast asleep.
