Here in Rochester, the fire houses had an open house. We decided to go for family night. Ben had fun climbing in to the fire truck. Ben even got to squirt a hose and pretend to put out a fire. Gavin didn't want anything to do with climbing in the fire truck, or spraying water. We were able to watch the ladder truck raise its ladder, and see the fire man rescue "a cat from a tree." The boys even got fire men hats and a sticker badge.

For Ben's preschool, we went on a field trip to an apple orchard. We got to see how they sort and clean the apples. They also make apple cider there, and we were taken to the room where they process the apples and also put the juice in a jug. We then got to go on a hay ride. We went through their corn maze. They boys picked an apple, and a small pumpkin to bring home. David was able to get the day off and enjoy the apple orchard with us also.
Here is Ben picking an apple.
Gavin's turn to pick.
Gavin sitting on a big pumpkin.
Ben's turn now.
These are some of Ben's friends. Ben, Ian, Cole, and Scott.
And now to me two year old. He turned 2 on Saturday. Of course we had some of the usual Saturday stuff to do. Like the laundry and the cleaning. Don't forget Gavin still needs a nap. We were able celebrate some of Gavin's birthday after his nap. He had so much fun opening his presents. He even had some fun playing with them. But what fun is a new toy if you don't have someone to share it with. Poor kid's best friend/brother was sick. Not all of the attention was on Gavin that day.
Gavin and I went out for a walk. Gavin led the way. We ended up at the boys favorite park. On the way Gavin found a long stick. I think it was taller than he was. Anyway as he was dragging it on the ground, a small piece broke off. He was a little upset about it, but the stick was still big. As we approached the park, he decided to start breaking the stick. It was funny to watch him try to angle the stick just right and then step on it. With every attempt to break the stick it took him 2 or 3 tries just to step on it. His foot usually would end up slipping off of the stick. He finally got it down pretty small. He tried breaking it one last time, but couldn't get it. I even tried breaking it, but it was too hard for me. Gavin was able to swing on the coveted swing, but I don't think he had too much fun because Ben was not waiting for the swing. He even went down a slide.
We ended up having Gavin's cake on Sunday, due to Ben's sickness. Gavin even got his candles blown out. One at a time.
